Minnesota.... part 2

The theme of the week was sand and swingsets! The resort we go to has a great play area that is partially shaded for the kids to play in - and boy did they play!

Minnesota...part 1

So, I'm sitting here watching the baseball playoffs and thinking about football games - which means I'm just a 'little' late in posting our August vacation pictures...but better late than never!!

We spent the first week of August at the lake in Perham, MN and it was Tyler's first trip here while being mobile! We had a great time and here are some pictures of our highlights....

We drove up with Uncle Kyle, excited to test out our new car (Chevy Equinox). We thought getting up very early in the AM would allow us more sleep time in the car - but apparently he was just as excited as we were and was up at least the first hour! Below is one of our stops late that morning in Minnesota - we think he spilled his milk in his carseat so we had to change back into our PJ's - and we let him run around with Kyle a bit before getting back into the car...you can't help but laugh!

Once at the lake, we hit the water - he quickly worked on getting the attention of the girls...

Grandma & Ty went for a walk on the talk....doesn't it make you wonder what they were talking about???

Broken Leg...

Yep, we have our first break! The day we got back from vacation in Minnesota, Tyler was running through the kitchen and apparently stepped 'just right' onto a rubbermaid lid he had strategically placed on the floor without our knowledge. We took him to the doctor, x-ray, and ortho the next day and conclusion was a 'toddler break.' We are now the proud owner of a nice boot. This has not stopped the kid - he is still going strong and pretty much ignores it, which is great! Here are a few pics of how he's doing.

This is after we just got home from the doctors - he got to watch "Jake" - which is "Jake and the Neverland Pirates", a Disney show. Just ask him and you'll get his "Yo Ho!"

Dad got home that night to see him and his boot!

See, it won't stop me Mom! My friend Amy was visiting and rode her bike - Tyler had to check it out!

Playing with the trucks and firehouse...he's had it for months but lately it's become a new thing.

Summer Time Fun!

Summer is all about fun and water! We got Tyler a little pool for the deck, and have taken him to both the splash park and Urbandale pool. He seems to really have fun with the water!

After the zoo, we went to Carrie & Josh's new house to hang - sorry to say, I really didn't end up with some great pictures of the actual house - sorry guys! We did love it and can't wait to visit again!!!!

Henry Doorly Zoo

In June we traveled to Omaha to visit Aunt Carrie, soon-to-be Uncle Josh, and of course - the Henry Doorly Zoo! Here are some pics of our trip.....

Home Alone...

So, Andrew decided one day that he needed to get a jump start on mowing because it was supposed to rain. I was due home in a few minutes, so he set Tyler up with a cartoon and some cheerios and headed out to do a few laps. He came back in after a few minutes and Tyler hadn't moved from his Cars chair, apparently too into his cartoon. So, out he went again to do a few more laps. By the time he was going to check again, he saw I had gotten home. I came into the house to find the tv on, but no Tyler. I went around the corner to see that the 'gate' (see 1st picture) had been slid over....so Tyler had made his way upstairs......

And of course the gate is shut because that is what he always does. So he's locked upstairs....

And this is what I find in his room......

And seriously - I didn't make him pose or make this up - he did it ALL on his own! I could tell he had been in our room and taken a bunch of laundry out of the clean baskets and been having a great time playing! :)
