Pictures from March

In March, the Newman household had a touch of a 24-hour bug going around daycare. Tyler seemed to have it one day, and then gave it to Dad. Poor Dad. Unfortunately, the bug cancelled our trip to Aunt Carrie's house in Omaha. Here's a few pictures of how we spent part of our time...

4 Months Old

Tyler turned 4 months old almost a month ago! Here are a few pictures from then! At his four month appointment he weighed 13.5 pounds (20th percentile) and 24 1/2 inches (36th percentile). He even did pretty good with his shots! He was just getting over the 24-hour flu bug the day we went to the doctor - and we left Daddy home in bed since he caught the flu after Tyler!

Sick & Visitors

Tyler had his first illness this past week. Both mom and dad have been sick with colds, so it was only a matter of time! He has a cough that can only be explained as a bark, and his cold has made him stuffed up and hard to breathe...poor kid! Mom had Friday off work and was going to spend the afternoon shopping with Grandma Denise, but instead spent most of the day just hanging out with the little guy.

Grandma Denise and Grandpa Knute had planned to come up to visit Friday afternoon and Saturday for some shopping and playing with Tyler, but we instead spent more time just hanging out at home. The ladies made a quick trip to the craft fair while the guys watched TV. A big THANK YOU to Grandma and Grandpa for helping take care of Tyler while he was sick!

ISU Basketball Game

We finally had a weekend at home and the weather cooperated, so we headed up to Ames to take in an ISU Women's game. It was the annual "pink-out" to honor breast cancer awareness so the teams and fans all filled Hilton with pink. The Cyclones played a great game and won against Baylor, and we had a great time watching!

1st Trip out of Iowa

The first weekend in February marked Tyler's first trip out of Iowa! We took a slightly long weekend to go to St. Louis to meet up with the Hallquist side of the family and celebrate Emma's 2nd birthday. Val, Emma, & Chase drove up from Louisville Thursday and met Carrie just outside of St. Louis, and Grandma & Grandpa joined them late that evening. We headed out noon Friday - and drove in some snow and ice to get there. Thanks Daddy for driving! We ate out and swam Friday night, Saturday went to visit Aunt Ruth and her kids and did some more swimming, and headed home Sunday. It was great to see everyone again!
